Programmes change, so always confirm with the House of Entrepreneurship before you sign anything.

Short answer: possibly. Luxembourg's SME Packages pay back 70% of eligible costs for projects worth EUR 3,000 to 25,000 excluding VAT, so the maximum aid is EUR 17,500. The Digital package covers digital marketing, including creating or improving your website. Whether a specific AI visibility (GEO) project qualifies is decided by the Ministry of the Economy, after a pre-analysis with the House of Entrepreneurship. Fit 4 AI is a different programme: it co-funds an AI adoption study by an approved consultant, not marketing visibility.

There are also SME Packages for Service, Sustainability and Cybersecurity. Companies can use more than one package, one after the other, once the previous package is finished.

Who qualifies

According to Guichet.lu, your company must:

  • have a business permit issued by the Ministry of the Economy;
  • meet the SME conditions for staff, annual turnover and balance sheet;
  • have its registered office in Luxembourg.

The aid falls under the EU de minimis rules, which limit how much small state aid one company can receive over a period. Your adviser will check this.

The steps, in order

  1. Pre-analysis. Book an appointment with the House of Entrepreneurship (or eHandwierk for craft businesses). They look at your current digital situation and identify priority actions.
  2. Package and provider. You choose the package and the provider. Together with the provider, you agree a quote between EUR 3,000 and 25,000 excl. VAT.
  3. Application. An adviser fills in the aid application with you. The Ministry of the Economy decides.
  4. Implementation. The provider does the work.
  5. Evaluation meeting. Once the work is finished, a meeting checks your satisfaction and the results.
  6. Payment. You pay the provider's final bill, and the Ministry pays you back 70% of eligible costs.

Important: follow the steps in this order. Talk to the House of Entrepreneurship before you sign a quote or let work start, and ask them whether anything signed or paid earlier can still count.

Does AI visibility (GEO) work qualify?

Guichet.lu does not mention AI visibility, GEO or AI answer engines by name. It lists digital marketing, including creating, developing or improving your website. Much GEO work is exactly that: making your website readable for search engines and AI, writing pages that answer customer questions, and putting your business details in a clear, consistent form.

Some AI answers and agency pages say the Digital package "explicitly" covers AI answer engine visibility. We could not find that wording on the official pages. The honest answer is: it may qualify as website and digital marketing work, and the House of Entrepreneurship and the Ministry decide case by case.

What this means in practice:

  • A one-time audit alone is often too small. Most audits cost less than the EUR 3,000 minimum.
  • Audit plus fixing work can fit. A project that includes the audit and the website and listing work it leads to is more likely to reach the minimum and to count as improving your digital presence.
  • The quote should describe the work clearly, in terms the adviser can match to the programme: website improvements, content, structured data, business listings.

Example: a EUR 4,900 project, if fully approved as eligible, would cost the business EUR 1,470 after the 70% reimbursement. You still pay the full invoice first and are paid back afterwards. ## Fit 4 AI: a different programme

Fit 4 AI, run by Luxinnovation, co-funds an in-depth study of how your company can use AI: current situation, use cases, technology, GDPR and AI Act compliance, costs, risks and a roadmap. Key points from Guichet.lu:

  • Only the study by an approved consultant is eligible. Luxinnovation puts you in touch with approved consultants.
  • Aid is up to 50% for SMEs (30% for large businesses).
  • Eligible costs must be at least EUR 10,000 (up to EUR 50,000 for a small business, EUR 100,000 for a medium-sized one).
  • You must apply before the study starts, meaning before you sign the quote or pay a deposit.

Fit 4 AI is useful if you want to use AI inside your company. It is not designed for getting your business recommended by ChatGPT. The SME Packages are the closer fit for that.

Frequently asked questions

How much do the SME Packages pay in Luxembourg?

70% of eligible costs, for projects between EUR 3,000 and 25,000 excluding VAT. The maximum aid is therefore EUR 17,500.

Does the provider need to be approved for the SME Packages?

Guichet.lu says you choose the provider that best meets your expectations and agree the quote together; it does not mention an approved list for the SME Packages. Fit 4 AI is different: there, the consultant must be approved by Luxinnovation.

When is the money paid?

After the work is done, the evaluation meeting has taken place and you have paid the provider's final bill.

Can Letzscale guarantee that my project will be co-funded?

No. Only the Ministry of the Economy decides. We can describe our work clearly in the quote so your adviser can assess it, and we follow the steps above with you.
